The Sandy Springs Historic Site Williams-Payne House Museum
Historic Sandy Springs

Interior of Williams-Payne House Museum

The namesake of the community-the Historic Sandy Springs-anchors the Sandy Springs Historic Site. The site has served as a central landmark and gathering place for the community since the time of the Indians. Today, it is home to the Williams-Payne House, the "Milk House", a Victorian style band shell, a deluxe two-hole privy, as well as spectacular historical landscaping and green space. Modern amenities include our offices and the Garden Room, a popular meeting and reception area.

The Sandy Springs Historic Site is a public park, open from dawn until 8:00 p.m. daily at no charge. Tours of the Williams-Payne House Museum may be made by appointment by calling 404-851-9111 or by e-mail. The museum is currently open to the public on Fridays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

School, scout, civic and other groups of 10 or more must make an advance reservation by calling 404/851-9111 at least two weeks in advance.

For school, scout, and similar group tours of the Historic Site and Museum, please refer to Education and Tours, or contact the Program Director by calling 404-851-9111 or e-mail us.
