Archive/ Resources

archiveThe Heritage Research Library & Archive actively seeks artifacts, photographs, oral histories and ephemera associated with the history of the land and people of Sandy Springs.

Artifacts

The collection includes items from quilts to matchbooks. The majority of items have been cataloged and are available for research through PastPerfect software in the library.

Photographs

HSS collects original and digital copies of photographs from all time periods of Sandy Springs history. Many of the photographs in the collection are available for research through PastPerfect in the library.

Oral Histories

More than a dozen recollections and reminiscences about the land and people of Sandy Springs are available for research. If you would like to share your story, please contact Kimberly Brigance at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Veterans’ Stories

In partnership with the Library of Congress, HSS records the memories of  veterans from all branches of service. A copy of the oral history is sent to the Library of Congress and a copy stays at HSS for research. We are especially interested in gathering the memories of WWII veterans.

archive2Library

The Heritage Research Library maintains a collection of books associated with Sandy Springs and the surrounding area. Genealogical information, native plants and Civil War era readings highlight the collection. Genealogical research is also available through use of computerized records.
